The CERN School of Computing welcomes research workers, working at particle physics institutes or in sister disciplines and involved in computing-related activities.

This year’s two-week programme is comprised of 50 hours of lectures and hands-on exercises and includes Advanced data and storage technologies, Data Replication and Caching, Efficient use of Many-core technologies, Key aspects of multi-threading,

Concurrent programming, Writing secure code, Cryptography, Statistical methods and probability concepts in physics-data analysis, Multivariate Analysis and Visualisation.

The CSC is not a conference but a true summer university and delivers the CSC diploma as well as ECTS credits to students who succeed in the final examination.

Networking and socialization is the other goal of CSCs. One vehicle for social networking is the CSC Sport Programme which proposes two to three hours of sport every afternoon to those who are interested.
