Times Higher Education (THE) has announced its world ranking for the AY of 2018/2019. In the list of British specialist journals – similarly to last year – the University of Szeged is ranked among the 601–800th place. With this result, SZTE is the second best in the competition among Hungarian universities.
More than 1,200 higher education institutions in the world have been ranked this year by Times Higher Education. 7 Hungarian institutions were indicated on the 2018/2019 list, the University of Szeged was ranked as the second best. In the evaluation, the most powerful indicator of the University of Szeged is internationality, which includes the number of foreign teachers and students, as well as publications that were written within the framework of an international cooperation.
In the ranking compilation, 13 indicators were taken into account of five groups: learning environment, quality of research, quotation, income from industry and internationality. The first three aspects are 30–30%, industrial earnings are 2.5% and internationals account for 7.5% of the total score.
