The Kerékjártó Seminar serves as the official research seminar of the Department of Geometry. It provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of research spanning the broad field of geometry and its related disciplines.
The seminar was established in 2003 by Ferenc Fodor and Gábor Péter Nagy, and bears the name of Professor Béla Kerékjártó, the first head of the Department.

Between 2012 and 2022, it was organized by Árpád Kurusa; it is currently coordinated by Ferenc Fodor.
The seminar customarily meets on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 13:30 in the Riesz Room (Bolyai Building, Aradi vértanúk tere 1, Szeged).
Notices of forthcoming talks are published on the Department’s website. Announcements are also distributed through mailing lists, and posters are displayed within the Bolyai Building.
Since 2021, the seminar has additionally been offered online via the Zoom platform. The access link is available here; the password corresponds to the first six digits following the decimal point of the packing density of the circle.
Proposals for presentations, as well as expressions of interest in delivering a talk, are warmly welcomed and may be submitted by e-mail to the seminar organizer.
